Hey! It's 9 days before we leave for Guatemala and I'm thrilled! Today it was pretty nice outside, for Wisconsin, and feeling the sun on my face made me think of how badly I can't wait to feel that same warmth except 1965 miles closer to the equator. Let you know when I get there, Dana
Less than a week until we leave for our trips. I could not be more excited. Thought I would tell you a little about myself. I am currently a freshman here at UW-Oshkosh. I am studying to become a special education teacher for elementary aged children. I will be traveling with the Guatemala trip this year. I am very ready for some sun and warm weather. I am worried though, because I know absolutely no Spanish. This is going to be a great adventure.
Vamos a Gautemala mañana! Estoy muy emocionado! *We are going to Gautemala tomorrow! I am very excited!
I currently a Junior here at UWO. I am studying both Nursing and Spanish. I am really looking forward to our trip! Can't believe it is already here! :)
Hope you are all having an AMAZING time in Guatemala! I am so jealous I am not there again this year but SO excited for you all. It's a wonderful experience and I hope you enjoy every minute of your time there. and Mike...don't forget my bracelet!!!!
Hey everyone!!! We finally made it to the internet cafe after 2 long days of work. On day one we learned the coffee process, a lot more work than people thought. Today we built a Talapia pond out of cement that will be fueled by pig waste. It is a dumbed down version of our biodigester!!! We are having a great time, but very tired and sore after all that work! We´ll get back soon to update with more stories. It´s hard to blog because it thinks we are typing everything wrong because it isn´t in spanish... Adios!
Sounds like the group is having an exciting, eye opening, and fulfilling week. Can't wait to hear how the trip was in its entirety. Hard to believe a year has passed since I myself was in your shoes! Guatemala was an experience I will never forget and I'm sure the same will be true for all of you. Hope you are all learning a lot about the lifestyle and culture in the country as well as interesting insight into each others experiences during group reflections. Enjoy the remainder of your trip and safe travels! ¡Adiós!

Hi Liz, Emily and the rest of your group, We're proud of what you're doing down there; it's good to look up from your own life and see how it is for other people. You'll have so many memories and stories, and I look forward to hearing about your trip! Jeanne College of Nursing
So Guatemala Crew, let's see if you are reading our posts (if you have time/means). The challenge, if you choose to accept it, is to Tebow in the most unique place(s) in Guatemala. Be safe of course! Bring back proof or better yet, post on the blog. Enjoy your last day and thank you for your time and commitment.
I just want to let everyone know that we have the most amazing time in Guatemala. I am truly blessed to have had the opportunity to go down there and learn from that experience. It will be something that I will never forget. I want to thank my group members that were able to share the experience with me, Mike for setting everything up, As Green As It Gets for all of the work that they do, and the Guatemalan families that opened up their homes to us. I also want to thank last years group for their hard work and knowledge that they brought back so that this year we could help to further the cause. I hope that someday we will be able to get together and share stories and the progress that Guatemala has made. I know that many more blogs will be coming with some awesome stories and pictures. But no words will ever be able to describe the true experience of the trip.
Hey!
